David Lewman's 144-page paperback retells the film for readers around 6 to 9, costs $7.99 and includes an eight-page color insert.

It is the first prose version of the movie in regular stores. Abrams' longer novelization by Allison King and Ramin Zahed's The Art of the Movie are both due November 10, although Abrams sold early copies of each at New York Comic Con the week before.

The book joins Meet Team Avatar, a Step into Reading leveled reader tied to the film that Random House released on September 1.

Seven Havens creators say they love Korra and call out the hate she gets

The new show casts Korra as the Avatar who broke the world. Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino say that isn't the whole story.

Avatar: Seven Havens opens in a world that blames Korra for the Cataclysm. In the haven of Ellora, people celebrate her downfall and street performers mock her. Some fans read that as a sign her creators had turned on her. The creators say the opposite.

In a fan-question video for Teen Vogue's TikTok, Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino laughed off the idea that the show is a veiled attack on Korra and told doubters to keep watching. Konietzko said they both love the character and that he is proud of The Legend of Korra. DiMartino called her one of his favorite characters.

Konietzko said people are free to dislike that series, but that much of the hostility toward Korra comes from misogyny and homophobia. Polygon reports he also pushed back on the old complaint that Korra lost her connection to the past Avatars: "Her uncle did that to her." DiMartino added that there is more to Korra's story than the first episodes show.

The two also explained the twins. Neither Aang nor Korra had siblings, and they wanted to tell a story about sisters finding each other. It wasn't their first idea, but it came early in development. Asked whether one twin is a "Dark Avatar," they wouldn't say.

Episodes 4 to 6 arrive on Paramount+ on October 16.

Korra's voice actor Janet Varney says the Seven Havens premiere left her in tears

On the official podcast, Varney said hearing children in the show call Korra a monster really hurt.

Janet Varney, who voiced Korra for four seasons, says she cried through the first episode of Avatar: Seven Havens.

"I sobbed through this pilot episode. I was shattered," she said on Avatar: Braving the Elements, the official podcast she hosts with Dante Basco. In the premiere, the people of Ellora remember Korra as the Avatar who caused the Cataclysm and celebrate her downfall.

Varney said her first worry was for the fans who love Korra and have defended her for years. After she had time to grieve, she went back and watched the episode again with fresh eyes. The hardest part, she said, was hearing children talk about Korra as if she were a monster. She isn't Korra, she added, but she knows what the character means to people.

She asked fans to keep the faith, since nobody knows yet where the story is going. Forbes' Paul Tassi made a similar case, arguing that the show is setting up Korra's reputation as a mystery to solve, not rejecting her.

Korra's creators have said much the same. Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino told Teen Vogue that they love the character and that there is more to her story than the first episodes show.

Iroh's voice actor Greg Baldwin hits back at attacks on Seven Havens' gay and disabled characters

Most fans have embraced Jae and his boyfriend Datu. Baldwin had a blunt reply for the ones who haven't.

Avatar: Seven Havens has drawn a small but loud online backlash over two of its characters. Pavi, the new Avatar, is an amputee. Jae, the airbending guard who takes her under his wing, has a boyfriend named Datu. One post on X listed both and complained that Avatar is supposed to be a kids' show.

Greg Baldwin answered on October 12. Baldwin took over as Uncle Iroh after Mako's death and voiced him through The Legend of Korra. Introducing himself as the second voice of Uncle Iroh, he wrote: "So sorry LGBTQ and disabled people exist." When another user replied with an anti-gay slur, Baldwin posted an image of Iroh giving the middle finger. Topher Ngo, who voices Datu, thanked him.

Kotaku reports that most fans have welcomed the couple. In the premiere Datu runs to hug Jae, and Jae kisses him on the cheek in Chapter 3, "The Order."

Major Curda, who voices Jae, talked about the pair at New York Comic Con on October 9. He told The Hollywood Reporter that the representation excites him because the show doesn't make a big deal of it, and called Jae and Datu an example of love is love.

Work on Seven Havens Books 3 and 4 is already underway

The twins' young voice actors already know much of what happens next, says producer Sehaj Sethi.

Paramount+ announced Books 3 and 4 of Avatar: Seven Havens only on October 9, but production has already started, ComicBook.com reported on October 13. Executive producer Sehaj Sethi told the site that Saheli Khan and Aishu Devan, who voice the twin Avatars Pavi and Nisha, "already kind of know a bunch of what's going to happen."

The show has been part of both actors' lives for years. It was in development for about three years before the premiere, and Khan and Devan were 10 and 11 when they started. They have recorded in the same room only once. Khan joked that it never happened again because they talked the whole time.

Both described keeping the twin-Avatar twist secret until the premiere as torture.

Book One continues on Paramount+ with Chapters 4 to 6 on October 16, 7 to 9 on October 23 and the last four on October 30. Book Two, also 13 episodes, has no release date.

Seven Havens began as a 2008 idea, and Geet and Ruhi are Konietzko's cats

The creators and cast shared behind-the-scenes stories at New York Comic Con.

Avatar: Seven Havens is an older idea than it looks. Bryan Konietzko told BuzzFeed at New York Comic Con that he and Michael Dante DiMartino first thought of it in 2008, right after the original series ended. "It wasn't the right story to tell when we got to make Korra," he said. They picked it back up at Avatar Studios in 2021. DiMartino said it started as a question about what a post-apocalyptic Avatar world would look like and grew into a story about two Avatars.

Konietzko's favorite part of the show is its cat-monkeys. Geet and Ruhi are based on his own cats. He helped design them and credited the French animation studio La Chouette with bringing them to life. Dee Bradley Baker voices both.

The rest of the team named their own favorites. DiMartino picked the sisters' relationship, which he called heartbreaking. Executive producer Ethan Spaulding picked Pavi, and Sehaj Sethi said she is proud of Jae and of what the writers put him through. Spaulding added that every haven needed its own culture and mindset, a big job given how long the team spent on Ellora alone.

Major Curda said he spotted bits of Sokka, Katara, Bolin and Tenzin in Jae when he first read the script. He wanted to honor them while keeping Jae a new character.

Gallery Nucleus sets a 46-artist Avatar Aang tribute show for November

Lauren Montgomery and Faith Erin Hicks are among the artists.
The single-disc Blu-ray presents the film in 1080p at its 2.39:1 aspect ratio. English audio comes in Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1, with French and Spanish 5.1 tracks and an audio-description track. It includes a digital copy and comes with a slipcover in its first pressing. List price is $31.99, and Amazon has it for $24.95.

There are still no bonus features listed, the same as when the release was announced in September. The 4K Ultra HD edition, sold only as a SteelBook, follows on February 9, 2027.

The same day, Paramount also releases M. Night Shyamalan's 2010 live-action The Last Airbender on 4K Ultra HD. The listing describes it as an upscale rather than a new 4K scan, with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and a list price of $39.99. No extras are listed for that one either.

The vinyl edition of Jeremy Zuckerman's Avatar Aang score, announced in August, still has no date or price.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a headline title at EVO France

The licensed fighter was one of seven main games in Nice, and Patch 3.0 added an EVO-themed Katara color to mark it.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game was one of seven main tournament titles at EVO France in Nice, and its Top 8 bracket was broadcast.
The developers tied the event into Patch 3.0, released October 7, which added an EVO France color for Katara. Uruguay's Pepe Uehara won the bracket playing Toph.

The two traded a look and a laugh. Both said there's a reason. Sethi added that they can't say why yet, but that it is important.

A popular fan theory ties the havens to the seven chakras. In the same interview Sethi noted that chakras, which Guru Pathik taught Aang in The Last Airbender, are a South Asian concept, and Seven Havens draws on South Asian culture more than the earlier shows did.

The episode titles add to the case. The first season is Book One: Survival, and its finale is called "The Root Chakra." In The Last Airbender, the root or earth chakra is the first one Aang opens, and Pathik says it deals with survival and is blocked by fear. A separate Polygon analysis points out that Ellora's motto is about survival, that the city is built from red rock, the root chakra's color, and that both twins are earthbenders.

Nobody on the show has confirmed the link.

Avatar Aang holds at No. 2 on Paramount+ as Seven Havens climbs the series chart

Third-party rankings show both Avatar Studios titles near the top of the service.
Avatar: Seven Havens is charting as well. MovieWeb, also citing FlixPatrol, reported the new series at No. 4 on Paramount+ worldwide in its first days, ahead of several Taylor Sheridan dramas.

These are third-party rankings, not audience counts. Paramount has published no viewership figures for either title. Rotten Tomatoes lists 100% positive from 20 critics with an average of 7.9 out of 10, and Metacritic gives it 80 from 11 reviews. Critics saw six episodes ahead of the premiere.

Audience scores are lower. The Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter is 80%, while Metacritic users rate the show 5.5 out of 10 from 63 ratings.

The animation is the main sticking point. GamesRadar+ faulted inconsistent animation and action that can be hard to follow, and Gizmodo called the premiere a little rocky but promising. When a clip came out the day before the premiere, some fans called the animation choppy and a step down from The Legend of Korra. GamesRadar+'s review faulted inconsistent animation and action that is hard to follow.

The creators say the new style is deliberate. In an interview with GamesRadar+ published October 10, Konietzko said executive producer Ethan Spaulding has long been the team's expert on 1970s and '80s Japanese animation. Konietzko named Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water as a reference and said they wanted the show to have more of a fantasy feel.

Spaulding said a different look was part of the plan when he joined. Early on, Konietzko suggested leaving shadow layers off the characters entirely, so the show would be more colorful and less dark than the earlier series. Spaulding said the result feels a little more animated than the other shows.

The Hollywood Reporter described the finished series as having a '70s-inspired anime style. Critics have rated the show well above its audience scores, as our review roundup shows.

Seven Havens episodes 1 to 3: the biggest reveals

A storm spirit that looks a lot like Vaatu, a White Lotus captain and masked strangers watching Ellora.

Spoilers for Chapters 1 to 3 of Avatar: Seven Havens follow.

The first three episodes set up a world that has spent more than two centuries blaming the Avatar for its ruin. Here is what they established.

A city built on fear
Chapter 1 opens on Ellora's festival marking Korra's downfall, complete with a children's play about the Cataclysm and the founding of the havens. Characters describe Korra as vanquished or defeated. Fewer benders are born every year, so Ellora makes every known bender register for the Bending Brigade, which guards the city against the wastes outside. The havens don't trust one another.

The twins
Pavi is 9, an amputee living on the streets outside the walls. Jae, a guard, sees her earthbend and then airbend during a tornado. Her twin Nisha has spent three years as the secret ward of Captain Karthik. In Chapter 3, a lullaby Pavi plays on a kalimba unlocks a shared memory of their mother, and the sisters agree to train with Jae and look for their parents.

The storm
In Chapter 2 a huge storm hits Ellora, carrying a spirit that can possess people and animals. Variety identifies it as a version of Vaatu, the dark spirit from The Legend of Korra. The episode never says his name, though, and the official synopsis calls it only a strange entity. When the twins trap its glowing red core, they are pulled into a vision of what looks like the Cataclysm. The attack leaves red crystals across the city.

The White Lotus, and a new threat
After the attack, Karthik is promoted to commander of the Bending Brigade and tells Jae he belongs to the Order of the White Lotus. Ellora's leaders reject his push to contact the other havens. The last shot shows masked figures looking down on Ellora as their next target. Nobody has said who they are.

Chapters 4 to 6, "The Faceless," "The One Left Behind" and "Night of the Afflicted," arrive on October 16.

Seven Havens Easter eggs: Iroh's song, an older Aang and a White Lotus photo wall

The new show is set centuries after Korra, but its first episodes are full of nods to the old ones.

Minor spoilers for Chapters 1 to 3.

Avatar: Seven Havens takes place more than 200 years after The Legend of Korra, in a world that has lost most of its history. The first three episodes still find room for plenty of callbacks.

Within the first minute, a guard in Ellora whistles "Four Seasons," the song Iroh sings in Book One of The Last Airbender.

Jae rides a hoverboard built on the same idea as Aang's air scooter.

Karthik shows Jae a scroll of past Avatars that includes Kyoshi, Roku, Korra and an older, bearded Aang.

A White Lotus photo wall includes Iroh, Jeong Jeong and Pakku. IGN wonders whether one of the waterbenders is Katara without her hair loops.

Seen from above, Ellora appears to be laid out like the White Lotus tile.

The lullaby that unlocks the twins' memories in Chapter 3 plays over the end credits of every episode.

Karthik also reveals in Chapter 3 that he is a member of the White Lotus.

The Avatar Aang that almost was: a pregnant Katara and an Earthbender king

Lauren Montgomery explains the ideas the team dropped before Tagah became the villain.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender went through several versions before it reached Paramount+. Two recent pieces show how different it might have been.

On September 29, the official Avatar Legends channels posted a Braving the Elements clip titled "Katara Was Pregnant in the Avatar Aang Movie?!" In it, director Lauren Montgomery walks through an early plan, shown in concept art, for Katara to be pregnant with her and Aang's first child and still fighting through the film. The idea first came out at Comic-Con in July. Michael Dante DiMartino said it pushed the characters too far ahead, and The Legend of Korra already makes Bumi their first child. Montgomery, who joined after the idea came up, said the story didn't need it.

The villain changed too. Montgomery told CGMagazine at SCAD AnimationFest that Tagah was the third antagonist the team settled on. One earlier version was built around an Earthbender king. Bryan Konietzko's first pitch had Aang learning something new about his culture. Montgomery's team shifted the focus to Aang grieving as the last airbender, something he never had time to do in the series.

Asked about sequels, Montgomery said the film was made to stand on its own and that there was never a plan to tell three stories back to back. No follow-up film has been announced.

Avatar Legends teases an "Avatar State" patch with new combos and Supers

The trailer, shown around EVO France, promises new moves for the whole cast and a Level 7 Super for Nightmare Korra.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has another big update on the way. A trailer for the "Avatar State" patch appeared around EVO France, three days after Patch 3.0 went live.

According to EventHubs, the trailer shows new combos and Super Techniques for existing characters, along with updated visuals, quality-of-life changes and balance adjustments. Some Supers unlock as a character levels up during a match. Nightmare Korra gets a new Level 7 Super with an animation taken from the series.

EventHubs says the patch fills in much of what was missing when the game launched in July, including moves, animations and finishing touches on some characters.

There is no release date or version number. The trailer did not mention Iroh or the other Year 1 Pass fighters, or the Seven Havens costume colors revealed at New York Comic Con.

Seven Havens premieres on Paramount+ with two Avatars at once

The Legend of Korra sequel jumps 225 years ahead and opens with a twist the franchise has never tried.

Avatar: Seven Havens premiered on Paramount+ on Friday, October 9 with the first three episodes of Book One: Survival. The other ten episodes arrive in weekly batches: episodes 4–6 on October 16, 7–9 on October 23, and a four-episode finale on October 30.

The series takes place about 225 years after The Legend of Korra, in a world wrecked by a disaster called the Cataclysm. Survivors live inside seven fortified havens, and many blame Korra for the catastrophe, so the Avatar is now feared rather than trusted.

The premiere confirms that Pavi, a young earthbender in the haven of Ellora, and her long-lost twin Nisha are both the Avatar, the first time the cycle has produced two people at once. Premiere recaps, as relayed by NickALive from Variety, say the guard captain Karthik found Nisha three years earlier and kept her as his ward. They also say a smaller form of Vaatu, the dark spirit from Korra, arrives in a storm, possesses people and escapes.

Saheli Khan voices Pavi and Aishu Devan voices Nisha. Major Curda, Akshay Khanna, Sakina Jaffrey, Darren Barnet, Dianne Doan and Dee Bradley Baker round out the cast. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko created the show, with Ethan Spaulding as executive producer and Sehaj Sethi as co-executive producer.

The launch is not on Paramount+ everywhere. SkyShowtime's European markets get the show from October 17, and in Germany, Austria and Switzerland it streams on Paramount+ as Avatar: Die Sieben Häfen.

Seven Havens renewed for Books 3 and 4 on premiere day

Paramount+ extends Pavi and Nisha's story to four books before the first one has finished airing.

Paramount+ has ordered two more books of Avatar: Seven Havens. DiMartino and Konietzko announced the renewal at the show's New York Comic Con Main Stage panel on October 9, hours after the premiere.

The original February 2025 order covered two books of 13 half-hour episodes each. Book 2 was part of that order and still has no release date. No episode counts or dates have been given for Books 3 and 4.

Janet Varney moderated the panel, which also featured Ethan Spaulding, Sehaj Sethi and cast members Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan and Major Curda. It included a script-to-screen clip.

Knight Edge Media separately reported that voice recording resumed in February 2026 and speculated that later books could jump ahead in time so the twins are teenagers. Paramount has not confirmed either claim.

Paramount+ orders Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, a comedic prequel about the teenage Water Tribe Avatar

Bryan Konietzko will run the series. There's no date, cast or episode count yet.

The next Avatar series heads into the past. At the same NYCC panel that renewed Seven Havens, DiMartino and Konietzko revealed Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, an animated Paramount+ original about Kuruk, the Water Tribe Avatar who came just before Kyoshi.

In the official logline, a rebellious teenage Kuruk breaks with thousands of years of tradition and learns the four elements by travelling the world, staying ahead of an angry teacher, rowdy pirates and chaotic spirits. Konietzko is showrunner, and Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios are producing.

Gizmodo and The Comics Beat report that Konietzko pitched the show to the crowd as an action comedy and the most comedic Avatar series yet. His reasoning was that it covers a peaceful stretch of Kuruk's life, before the losses that earlier stories describe.

Paramount+ released first-look art of Kuruk and his pet Nikik, which Entertainment Weekly describes as a koala-otter. No premiere window, voice cast, episode count or animation studio has been announced. Official materials do not give Kuruk's age; the figure of 14 comes from Knight Edge Media's earlier casting reports.

NYCC tie-ins: Seven Havens colors for the fighting game and twice-weekly podcast episodes

The Avatar panel previewed a new stage set in Sonam's temple and turned Braving the Elements into a Seven Havens companion.

Janet Varney used the NYCC Avatar panel to reveal Seven Havens-themed colorways for every fighter in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, along with a new stage set in Sonam's temple. No release date was given, and neither was part of the game's October 7 Patch 3.0.

The official podcast, Avatar: Braving the Elements, hosted by Varney and Dante Basco, has shifted to Seven Havens. Its fifth season opened in late September with episodes about the Avatar Aang movie. Seven Havens companion episodes began October 10, and the show will post two a week while Book One rolls out.

The YouTube shorts series Avatar: Chibi Minis also ended its season on premiere day with 'Fight at the Fire Nation Festival!'

Jeremy Zuckerman scored Seven Havens entirely on synthesizers

Konietzko asked for an all-synth sound, and the main title borrows from South Indian Carnatic music.

Avatar: Seven Havens sounds unlike any Avatar show before it, and that was Bryan Konietzko's idea. Composer Jeremy Zuckerman told BuzzFeed that Konietzko asked for a score made entirely with synthesizers, a first for the franchise. Zuckerman studied electronic music at Berklee and CalArts, so he said the request wasn't much of a stretch.

The main title took a rewrite. The final version uses konnakol, the spoken rhythm syllables of South Indian Carnatic music, and features the Carnatic singer Varijashree Venugopal, whose voice he uses sparingly. He later brought her onto the Avatar Aang film score too.

Swapping the small chamber group he used on The Legend of Korra for synths let him build bigger, more abstract swells. He also said the new show deals with "some topics I don't think I've seen before in animation," and that those scenes hold many of his favorite cues.

In the same interview, Zuckerman said about 99.5 percent of the Avatar Aang score was recorded live, with Anthony Parnther conducting. No Seven Havens soundtrack album has been announced.

NYCC publishing: a Korra graphic novel trilogy and early copies of the Aang film books

DiMartino will write The Legend of Korra: The Long Game, and Abrams sold its movie tie-ins a month early.

Avatar's publishers held their 'Fire, Earth, Water, Air: Continuing the Avatar Legacy' panel at New York Comic Con on October 8.
The biggest comics news from NYCC was The Legend of Korra: The Long Game, a three-part graphic novel written by Michael Dante DiMartino and drawn by Alexandria Monik. It features Korra, Bolin, the Red Lotus anarchist Zaheer and Tokuga, a villain from the Korra comics. NickALive dates the reveal to October 8. No publisher or release date has been confirmed.

Speaking to CBR at SCAD AnimationFest, she said Paramount's main note was that people who had never seen the series should be able to enjoy the film. SCAD screened the movie with a conversation with the director on September 23.

In an October 5 interview with Cinema Femme, she described the film's look: hand-painted backgrounds projected onto 3D environment models, with Flying Bark's Kit Rigby helping to set the style. She said she asked the animators to keep character movement a little stiffer than Disney-style fluidity, and that an early script was dropped because it played too much like an episode of television.

At Comic-Con in July, she said the team briefly considered a Spider-Verse-style 3D approach before committing to 2D. She told Cinema Femme she hopes this isn't the characters' last trip to the big screen. No sequel has been announced.

New Seven Havens clips introduce Jae's bending squad and the Cataclysm

The day before the premiere, Paramount+ released two last looks at the series.

Paramount+ put out two more Avatar: Seven Havens clips on October 8, the day before the premiere.

The first, an exclusive at DiscussingFilm, introduces the squad of young benders led by the airbender guard Jae. Alongside Daemin, voiced by Darren Barnet, it brought two new names: Uki and Lan. DiscussingFilm said the scene shows the show's ruined world in a more hopeful light.

The second, titled "The Cataclysm" and posted to the official Avatar Legends channels, sets up the disaster that shattered the world in the centuries after The Legend of Korra.

They capped a promotional run that began with the official trailer on September 10 and included new key art from Paramount+ Australia on September 15. Some fans criticized the animation in a scene released the same week, and the creators have since explained the show's new look.

Avatar Legends Patch 3.0 adds public lobbies, spectating and a rebuilt Ozai

The biggest update since launch is live on Steam, PS5 and Xbox, with Switch to follow.

Patch 3.0 for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game went live on October 7.
Ozai has been fully reanimated and rebalanced, with three new Critical Hits and new combo trials. Ba Sing Se now has background characters, and the early chapters of Story Mode are easier. Story Mode Challenges were removed for now while they are reworked.

The update is out on Steam, PS5 and Xbox, and the developers say the Switch version follows shortly.
The deal closed after a settlement with 12 state attorneys general. The divestitures reported by TheWrap, including BET, Comedy Central and VH1, do not include any children's networks. During the European review, Bloomberg had reported that Paramount was willing to sell some kids TV assets.

A memo from David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz warned of layoffs during the integration. No effect on Avatar Studios has been reported. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are still its co-chief creative officers, and three days after the close they announced a renewal and a new series at NYCC.

It is the second ownership change in just over a year. Skydance's takeover of Paramount closed in August 2025. In October 2025, Ramsey Naito, the executive Avatar Studios' leaders originally reported to, left Paramount Animation amid cuts that Cartoon Brew said affected about 2,000 US workers.

The Yangchen novels get an Ultimate Collector's Edition

Abrams binds F.C.
Avatar Legends: The Official Character Encyclopedia, by comics writer and editor Benjamin A. The 168-page hardcover costs $40 and ships after December 15. Its listing does not mention Seven Havens.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Official Oracle Deck and Guidebook, listed in early October, pairs 52 illustrated cards with a 128-page guidebook. Amy Chase wrote it and Amanda Wolf drew the cards, which draw on the show's characters, creatures and lore. It costs $24.99 and ships after January 12, 2027.

Insight's own store ships only to the US and Canada.
Loftis will go deeper at LightBox Expo in Pasadena. "The Art of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" runs Sunday, October 25, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Civic Auditorium. NickALive lists Panian and VFX supervisor Jerry Huynh as fellow panelists. Loftis said the talk will cover the film's visual pillars, early paintings and explorations, production art, its compositing style and concept art that didn't make the final cut.

The expo runs October 23 to 25 at the Pasadena Convention Center and ends with a screening of the film in the same room at 5 p.m., right after the panel.

Paramount+ confirmed on September 28 that the first is Book One: Survival, and Polygon revealed the chapter titles in batches over the following days, in English and in the show's in-world script.

On the Horizon

Into the Storm

The Order

The Faceless

The One Left Behind

Night of the Afflicted

What Lies Beneath

The Envoys: Part One

The Envoys: Part Two

Ghosts and Spirits

Battle of the Ruins

The Dome

The Root Chakra

Chapters 1 to 3 premiered on October 9. The rest arrive on Fridays: 4 to 6 on October 16, 7 to 9 on October 23 and 10 to 13 on October 30. Book Two, also 13 episodes, has no date yet.

Fans have zeroed in on the finale's title. The root chakra is the first of the seven chakras Guru Pathik taught Aang to open, and it governs survival, the name of this book. One detail, Kuruk's pet Nikik, has since been confirmed.

Before Paramount+ announced Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos on October 9, Knight Edge Media published a run of reports on the show's characters. Its September 24 piece described a teenage Team Avatar made up entirely of Water Tribe kids, separate from the friends Kuruk travels with in F.C. Yee's Kyoshi novels.

According to the report:

Misunka, codenamed "Meebs" in casting calls, is the son of the Northern Water Tribe's chief.

Hopa can icebend but can't waterbend in the usual way, and Kuruk has a crush on her.

Gawose, codenamed "Deela," is Kuruk's middle-aged waterbending teacher, who ends up hunting him across the world.

Fifth Nation pirates are the running threat at sea.

One detail has already checked out. Knight Edge said Kuruk would have a koala-otter named Nikik, and Paramount+ released first-look art of Nikik at New York Comic Con.

Other claims don't match the official announcement. Knight Edge named Migizi Pensoneau as showrunner, but Paramount+ credits Bryan Konietzko. Paramount+ has not confirmed any of the characters above, the cast or Kuruk's exact age.
