Avatar Aang Premieres at Comic-Con as Its Awards-Qualifying Theater Run Begins

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender had its world-premiere fan screening in Comic-Con's Ballroom 20 on the evening of July 24. The same day it began a one-week run, July 24 to 30, with three shows a day at AMC Empire 25 in New York and an AMC theater in Burbank. Sources disagree on which Burbank location.

Paramount announced the run on July 15, and tickets sold out quickly after going on sale July 16. Wikipedia, citing Variety, says the goal was eligibility for the Oscar shortlist. No awards submission has been confirmed.

Milan Records released Jeremy Zuckerman's 36-track score the same day. It blends orchestral writing with East and South Asian instruments, and a vinyl edition was announced in August without a date.
