Masters of the Elements Gathers Five Avatars in One Anthology

Dark Horse's new short-story series launched six weeks late with Yangchen, Kyoshi, Roku, Aang and Korra.

Dark Horse launched its anthology series with Avatar Legends: Masters of the Elements Volume 1 on August 25, six weeks after the July 14 date first announced. The 80-page paperback collects short stories featuring Yangchen, Kyoshi, Roku, Aang and Korra.

It mixes new shorts with stories first given away for free, including 2025's Free Comic Book Day story 'Ramen Rumble' and this year's Comics Giveaway Day story 'Earth and Water'. Contributors include Brandon Hoàng, Dave Scheidt, David M. Booher, Amy Chu and Benjamin Wilgus.

Listings disagree on price: Penguin Random House and the launch announcement say $13.99, while Dark Horse's product page shows $12.99. Dark Horse calls this the first volume, but no second volume has been announced.
