Avatar Legends Adds Ranked Mode and Reaches Xbox
Patch 2.5 brought competitive play; Switch 2 and physical editions are still to come.
Patch 2.5 for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, released September 2, introduced Ranked Mode 1.0 with cross-play, a PS5 low-latency option and a separate matchmaking queue for players who disconnect too often.
The Xbox Series X|S version, pulled hours before the July 23 launch over a backend problem, was promised by September 3 and was listed as available by mid-September. The Switch 2 version and physical editions are still due later in 2026. A US Amazon listing shows October 28 for the physical Switch releases, but the publisher has not confirmed that date.
At PAX West the team also gave a first look at Tagah, the free fighter from the Avatar Aang film, who still has no release date.
