Netflix Dates Its Final Live-Action Season for 2027 and Shows Ozai
No exact premiere yet, but the first look at Daniel Dae Kim's Fire Lord is here.
Netflix announced on Tudum that the third and final season of its live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender will premiere in 2027, and released a first-look image of Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai. There's no exact date. What's on Netflix estimates late 2027 or early 2028.
Season 3 was filmed back to back with Season 2 and wrapped in November 2025. Executive producer Christine Boylan said the Season 2 ending and the Season 3 opening were planned from the first week in the writers' room.
Netflix's article lists seven actors as joining, but only Jon Jon Briones (Piandao) and Tantoo Cardinal (Hama) are actually new. Terry Chen, Dolly de Leon, Lily Gao, Madison Hu and Dichen Lachman already appeared in Season 2. Deadline's May 2025 report that Adam Beach will play Hakoda is still unconfirmed by Netflix.
